blogging

i didn't do any studying last night. i was supposed to. i just wasted one freaking night. i had heaps of reading and LOADS more possibly in days to come... but i didn't do them. i didn't even attempt to do them. but i did read tho. i was reading stuff that had NOTHING to do with guaranteeing me future employment after i graduate. that is assuming that i do in the first place. i was reading this and it is, i reckon, funny.

i do enjoy the occasional blog hopping and i appreciate good blogs (i.e well written, funny, intellectual, not those 'i miss my girl girl', 24 yr olds going out with barely 18 yr olds kinda blog) good blogs are engaging. the person's command of english doesn't have to be very good but at least it's comprehensible. i don't appreciate pple writing 'me' as 'mi' or 'you know' as ' u no' (like my 14 yr old bro. i shall resolve to correct his spelling if that means beating him with a cane.. and no i don't hate him... i just like to abuse him. but in fact, i reckon i might 心软 and not beat him cos i love him very much). it's fine to use abbreviated words. heck i use them all the time as well. but don't mis-spell (i don't like misspell.. doesn't look right to me) simple words. the word 'dunno' is fine simply cos i use it as well and in linguistics, it's a sign (arbitary and conventional) where its form and meaning become entrenched thru frequent use. (nvm that!)

reading a good blog inspires me to post more. it also encourages me to write better, write more intellectually stimulating (oohhh *winks*) crap rather than the usual whining i engage in or the nonsensical stuff i ramble on abt (not that there's anything wrong with that.. i like doing that). not only that, it revitalizes me cos it allows me to play out my voyeuristic tendencies (no! not the sexual gratification part) of 'getting involved' in someone else's life. when u're down or bored, reading abt other pple's *(at this pt i'm pissed cos all i did was change the font and my 2nd half got wiped out! and i can't for the life rem what i wrote. ah fuck! as if i'm not feeling bad enough as it is! i'm going try to rem what i wrote)* mundane, loserish lives, in some way makes u feel sadistically happier abt ur 'not so sad afterall' life.

see! already my post sounds more engaging and coherent. this is one of those self gratifying thingys that i've taken to doing quite recently. given my current mood, it's a feel-good method. my good fren just gave me a diagnosis (in relation to my previous post) : i'm MELANCHOLIC (don't u just love this word?) it's like saying i'm depressed but i'm NOT that depressed... (did that make sense??? *scratches head*) i dunno. maybe i am. i still haven't figured it out yet. and yes i'm still in my mood. *where are my SUNSHINE day?!?!* on a side note (i love how that sounds) we effectively have 6 litres of milk in our fridge (3l full cream, 3l hi-lo. and don't ask me why) and we dunno what to do with it cept to finish the milk really fast. maybe i shd start cooking with it... i'd reckon it's much more healither than using canola oil. i'm rambling again. on another side note... eye candies are good esp when u're in those moods *hee hee* and whoever came up with the idea of canned meat (ie luncheon meat) is a freaking genius! (and i don't think spam tastes better) BRILLIANT!

** i actually managed to complete my post... almost similar... yay!**

***update: i just did something i absolutely dislike myself for... i had bad grammar all over the place. thanx to mr A for telling me abt it. i was just so irritated at having half my post deleted that i didn't bother reading thru again. but then, it's still not an excuse for dodgy grammar. i'm an arts student - my grammer sucks. i'm majoring in linguistics - my grammar sucks. i'm doing a unit in grammatical theory - my grammar sucks. see the pattern? i just suck! dammit... i have bad grammar..***
